There is a myth that somehow to digitize a piece of paper and transmit it around is what e-freight is all about. A typical example is scan a copy of airway bill and load it to a document repository somewhere in the file server. This is not what e-freight was meant to be. It is not at all.
The right way is to capture and keep an electronic record of the transport contents. The sole purpose is we can therefore make the shipment information readily accessible by all stakeholders in the cargo logistic chains.
